Sexual Violence Services Advocate Supervisor

Services focus on HEALTH, HOUSING, AND COMMUNITY SERVICES, offering a continuum of support to move households from crisis to long-term health and stability.

A New Leaf continues to grow to respond to needs in our community by developing comprehensive, relevant and effective services for vulnerable and underserved families, children, and adults.

A New Leaf’s REACH Sexual Violence Services address the unique, short, and long-term emotional safety and healing needs of those who have experienced sexual violence in the past and / or present.

This program offers survivor driven, healing centered services that provide support for survivors of all genders, sexual orientations, and expressions.

Our REACH Center is a 24 hour helpline that provides support for survivors of all genders, sexual orientations, and expressions.

Services provided include personal advocacy, individual and group support, resource referral, community outreach / education and training.

Through community collaboration and outreach, these services provide educational opportunities and promotes public awareness of the prevalence and impact of sexual violence.

Salary : $47,849 - $52,000 (DOE - Bilingual Differential)

Schedule : Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm - Participate in events outside of standard hours as required

Location : Mesa, AZ

QUALIFICATIONS

Education :

High School or GED required

Associates Degree or Bachelor’s Degree preferred

  • Experience Minimum of 6 months supervisory experience required
  • Familiarity with sexual violence issues and a comprehensive understanding of the specific needs of survivors
  • Personal or professional exposure to trauma-informed practices, crisis intervention skills, and active listening techniques through direct involvement or relevant training

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support day to day operations of REACH Center
  • Respond to REACH Helpline calls, emails, and in-person clients promptly and with compassion
  • Provide survivor advocacy to Sexual Violence clients through services including crisis intervention, personal advocacy, understanding the impact of trauma, recognizing triggers / strengths, developing healthy coping skills, and emotional safety planning. ,
  • Offer relevant information, resources, and referrals to diverse community services tailored to individual needs. When necessary, facilitate referrals to external resources if our services are not sufficient to meet their needs
  • Offer accompaniment to forensic exams upon request. Provide support during interactions with law enforcement or reporting procedures as needed, and arrange accompaniment to other service providers based on availability and requests.
  • Develop, coordinate, and facilitate support groups and workshops for survivors / secondary survivors.
  • Participate in and support the facilitation of training sessions focusing on the dynamics of sexual violence, root causes, types of victimization, and service provision.
